Effective Date: March 15, 2026 — Last Updated: March 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QR Stealth (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the website. Your continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
QR Stealth is a free, client-side QR code generator that runs entirely in your web browser. The Service allows you to:
- Generate QR codes for URLs, text, email, phone numbers, WiFi credentials, SMS, and vCard contacts
- Customize QR code appearance (colors, gradients, dot styles, logos, frames)
- Download generated QR codes as PNG or SVG files
QR code generation occurs locally in your browser. No QR code content is transmitted to our servers. Note that optional features such as address search use third-party services (see our Privacy Policy for details).
3. User Eligibility
You may use QR Stealth if you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use QR Stealth only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Service to:
- Generate QR codes that link to malware, phishing sites, or any malicious content
- Create QR codes intended to defraud, deceive, or harm others
- Distribute QR codes containing illegal content, including but not limited to content that violates intellectual property rights, promotes violence, or exploits minors
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service beyond what is visible in the browser
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users
- Impersonate QR Stealth or misrepresent your affiliation with us
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content: You retain all rights to the content you encode in QR codes (URLs, text, contact information, etc.) and to the QR codes you generate. QR Stealth claims no ownership or license over your generated QR codes. Because all generation happens client-side, we never have access to your content.
5.2 Our Content: The QR Stealth name, logo, website design, code, and all associated materials are the intellectual property of QR Stealth and its operators. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service itself without written permission.
5.3 Open-Source Libraries: QR Stealth uses open-source libraries (including qrcode-generator, Leaflet, JSZip, FileSaver.js, and other open-source libraries, each subject to their respective license terms). Use of these libraries is governed by their respective license terms.
6. Logos and Uploaded Images
If you upload a logo or image to embed in a QR code:
- The image is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to any server
- You represent that you have the right to use the image (you own it or have appropriate license/permission)
- QR Stealth is not responsible for any intellectual property disputes arising from your use of logos or images in QR codes
7. QR Code Functionality
QR Stealth generates standard QR codes that should be readable by any compliant QR code scanner. However:
- We do not guarantee that every generated QR code will scan correctly on every device or scanner, especially codes with heavy customization (low contrast colors, large logos, complex gradients)
- Higher error correction levels improve scan reliability but increase QR code density
- You are responsible for testing your QR codes before using them in production materials
- QR Stealth does not provide URL shortening, redirect services, or scan tracking — the QR code encodes exactly what you enter
8. Advertisements
QR Stealth is a free service supported by advertising. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:
- Advertisements may be displayed on the website
- We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements
- Clicking on advertisements takes you to third-party websites governed by their own terms and privacy policies
- We do not endorse any products or services advertised on the site
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Generated QR codes will be scannable in all conditions
- The Service will be available at any particular time
- Defects will be corrected
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QR STEALTH AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
This includes, without limitation:
- QR codes that fail to scan or encode incorrect data due to user error
- Costs incurred from printing materials containing non-functional QR codes
- Any damages arising from third-party advertisements or linked content
- Loss of data (though we do not store user-generated QR code content)
In no event shall QR Stealth's total aggregate liability to you exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or the total amount you have paid to QR Stealth in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QR Stealth and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
- Content you encode in QR codes generated using the Service
12. Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue, suspend, or modify the Service at any time without notice. Because QR Stealth is a stateless, client-side tool with no user accounts, there is no account to terminate. However, we may block access to the website if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you are violating these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Dispute Resolution. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation by contacting us. If unresolved after 30 days, either party may initiate binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration shall take place in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this waiver is found unenforceable, the entire arbitration provision shall be void.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Force Majeure
Force Majeure. QR Stealth shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, internet outages, hosting provider failures, DDoS attacks, government actions, or natural disasters.
16. Waiver
Waiver. The failure of QR Stealth to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by QR Stealth.
17. Assignment
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. QR Stealth may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and QR Stealth regarding the use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
19. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, please reach out via our Contact Page.
